HI, The problem is I am unable to ping the machine. It is acquiring the IP address and it is also able to access Internet, however when I am trying to ping from other machine its not pinging.

It sounds like you are not connected to the network. On that computer, try pinging any other computer nearby. If that works then try pinging one of the computers onthe other side of the firewall. If you can not ping even nearby computers then I believe the first issuewould be to get the computer properly connected to the network. If you cannot ping by IP there is something other than or in addition to DNS that is a problem. It pretty well has to be a physical connection issue such as bad NIC or driver (unlikely in this case), switch, cabling, or I still question the possibility of a firewall or security suite causing issues. Apr 25, 2011 · The Win 7 box can ping all of the boxes on the LAN and receive a response from each of them. None of the other boxes can get a response when pinging the Win 7 box. The ping will eventually time out. The Win 7 box cannot connect via Putty to any of the other boxes on the LAN.
